Water Industry Civil Engineering, C2V+, VolkerStevin/CH2M Hill Joint Venture
Installation of a complex ductile iron pipework scheme within the confines of an existing Water treatment works in Wetheral, Cumbria with Volker Stevin acting as principle contractor for United Utilities.
Lancaster Storm Culvert Renewal - Lancashire
Working with Barhale for United Utilities, Grant Ltd have successfully completed the construction of a large storm water culvert on the city centre bus station site. Working in confined conditions, a large temporary works coffer dam was installed using vibro piling techniques.
Box section culverts weighing 14 tonnes each were then installed by crane and assembled in situ. This work involved the temporary diversion of live sewers and dealing with storm water run off during the project.
Castle Douglas WwTW - Dumfries & Galloway
Working with Carrillion for Scottish Water, Grant Ltd installed two large temporary works coffer dams for the construction of new waste water tanks. Dealing with a variety of ground conditions including running sand, dewatering techniques were used to enable the vibropiled excavations to be constructed using lateral trench support.
Previous Water Industry Civil Engineering Projects
- Client - Scottish Water, subbing to Byzak. Installing aew 300mm deep storm overflow pipe and associated man hole at an average 4.5m to 6.5m depth.
- Repair and upgrade flood damaged water supply pipe for Invicta Trout. A 300mm PVC pipe was washed out during flood conditions. Grant Ltd liaised with a insurers and the design engineer to come up with a solution. The project was completed as a main contractor in 2016.
- Poaka Beck contract, Client KMI/UU. Deep gravity sewers and pressure pipes and associated chambers. 2008
- Three Bridges contract, Client KMI/UU. Install interlocking pile cofferdam, maintain, dewater and remove. 2008
- Brigglebeck contract, Client KMI/UU, install 6Km of pumping main and gravity sewer. completed 2012.
- Balbeggie contract, client Rosshire Engineering/Scottish Water. New chambers and pressure pipe work at WwTw. 2011/12
- Cardona contract, client Rosshire Engineering/Scottish Water. New chambers and pressure pipe work at WwTw. 2011/12
- Carnoustie contract, client Rosshire Engineering/Scottish Water. New chambers and pressure pipe work at WwTw. 2011/12
- Closeburn contract, client Rosshire Engineering/Scottish Water. New chambers and pressure pipe work at WwTw. 2011/12
- Loch Ewe first time sewering contract, client Scottish Water. 12 new pump stations and associated pipe work on the west coast to install new mains sewer for crofting community.
- Previous works for Volker Stevin, mostly UU or EA - Accrington Tank, Allonby re-sewering, Clappersgate, Eden Flood Defence.
